Jones and Sons is a thriving business selling humane pest deterrent equipment helping business and home owners form invasions of birds, mice, cats and waps. In the case of birds they even have specialist solutions for both gulls and pidgeons. Not only do they have a strong UK sale marketplace, they also have a thriving export market to the US and Europe.

Dave Jones, Managing Director, approached Business Link for some advice on the deluge of paperwork the sales were creating, especially for website orders. Business Link contacted Aspidistra to see if we could help to reduce the duplication involved when an internet order is paced. Working closely with two local web design houses, we used our Shopfront ecommerce technology to enable Jones and Sons' ecommerce orders to flow directly from the website into their Sage accounting system with real time allocation of stock, enabling the management to save time, save money and have an up to date picture of their business.

Dave Jones says: "With orders up by 20% year on year due to increasing website sales, we needed help. We wanted a solution to our sales, accounting and distribution conundrum. Only by finding a seamless way to integrate web sales into our accounting system were we going to be able to cope going into the future and with Aspidistra's help, we have it sorted."

We also designed a web based dispatch system which interfaces with both Sage 50 and the UPS World Ship Software Package. The dipsatch system allows orders to be picked, boxed, weighed and dispatched by UPS which also causes the packaging labels to be printed. When an order have been dispatched, the system marks the sales order as complete and also creates and invoice in Sage.
