Muddy Puddles
Muddy Puddles are a children's outdoor clothing mail order retailer based
near Kingsbridge in the South Hams of Devon. We have written a number of
integration tools to enable them to run their business effectively and efficiently.
For a number of years Muddy Puddles have been using the popular mail order
manager software called MOM, for sales order processing, customer relationship
management, stock control and purchase order processing. Muddy Puddles decided
that they wanted to start selling through a website as well as continuing
to sell by telephone, but the MOM integrated ecommerce system did not suit
their exact requirements. They asked us to write the integrated ecommerce
software they required.
Our initial brief was to enable online ordering, enable updating of website
content through our catalogue manager software and also to pass orders from
the website into MOM and pass stock information from MOM so that it appears
on the website. We also enabled orders taken from the call centre to be
encrypted and passed directly into MOM.
After over a year of using the website successfully, Muddy Puddles wanted
further additions. We provided them with software which enables stock information
to be passed directly from MOM to the call centre, a credit card pre-authorise
payment system, and a link from MOM to the catalogue manager software. This
has given Muddy Puddles a fully integrated ecommerce system which has helped
them to comfortably handle the larger volumes of orders they are now taking.
