Holiday Resort Unity
We have developed a unique ticketing system for a holiday park in Somerset.
Holiday Resort Unity required a barcode pass system to interface with its
existing booking system. The pass system was needed to issue tickets and
then control the entry of people and vehicles to the site and people to
venues within the site.
All bookings are made through the existing booking system giving the surnames
of the people, dates due on site, vehicle registration, ticket number and
booking type. We designed a fast search facility to enable interrogation
of this database by any of the fields. When the booking is found our system
creates and prints the tickets for each customer and vehicle. These tickets
all have a barcode containing the booking information and displaying the
valid dates, type of booking, name of customer or registration of vehicle
and the ticket number. Owner tickets also require a photograph of the owner
which is taken via a webcam and stored in the bar-code.
These tickets are then scanned at each control point within the site to
allow access to, for example, the swimming pools, golf or the bar. The display
at the control point shows if the ticket is valid or not and what type of
ticket it is. It will also display owner photographs. Vehicle control points
allow access to the site and the vehicle barrier is opened when a valid
vehicle ticket is scanned.
Our system allows tickets to be reprinted, suspended or de-activated. It
allows addition of a casual booking for day visitors, staff or deliveries.
It also produces reports with information on vehicle movements and venue
usage.
